 Sandy Pond in Pulaski, NY is home to a variety of fish species, both native and non-native.  Here are the common fish species found in Sandy Pond with a brief description and some tips on how to catch them:  


1. Largemouth Bass: This predatory fish is a popular game fish in Sandy Pond. They can grow up to two feet long and are known for their aggressive strikes and fighting ability. Anglers can catch largemouth bass using a variety of lures, such as spinnerbaits, topwater lures, and soft plastic worms. They prefer weed beds and other structure, so targeting those areas can be effective.  


2. Smallmouth Bass: Another popular game fish in Sandy Pond, smallmouth bass are smaller than their largemouth cousins but still put up a good fight. They prefer rocky habitats and can be caught using a variety of lures and baits, such as jigs, crankbaits, and live bait.
